2A12 aluminum rod is a kind of high-strength hard aluminum which can be heat-treated and strengthened. It has moderate plasticity and pot weldability and it has a tendency to form intergranular cracks when using gas welding and argon arc welding in annealing, quenching and hot state. The alloy is quenched. After quenching and cold-working hardening, its machinability is good, but it is not good in the annealed state. Due to its corrosion resistance is not high, we often adopt anodizing treatment and painting method or the surface coated with an aluminum layer to improve the corrosion resistance.
